GREEN ON WOMEN

Green are , through fairer policies on Citizen’s Pension, childcare and non-discrimination at work, and will also address the pay gap per hour between men and women. They are proposing to introduce equal pay audits for larger employers and promote legal changes to make it easer for women to take equal pay cases to court. The longer term aim will require 40% of board members of larger companies to be female within five years.
GREEN ON THE NHS
In a Nutshell: Green will be moving to stop the privatisation of the NHS and supporting mental and social care.

A wealth tax on the richest 1% of the population would raise £25bn, a 30% corporation tax and an increase in spend from £115bn to £338bn will fund their policies.

GREEN ON EDUCATION
In a Nutshell: Green promotes free, public learning.

There will be a movement towards phasing out tuition fees in secondary education and introducing appropriate taxation for private schools.
They are opposing performance related pay for teachers, and will be removing public funding from faith schools. They propose to cap class sizes to 20 pupils, to ensure that all teachers are qualified, to abolish league tables and to integrate existing grammar schools into the comprehensive system.
