For those of you that suffer from deep, dark under-eye circles and dry skin that no amount of rich eye cream can cure - you are not alone.
Dark shadows and delicate under-eye skin can sucks up all the moisture that youth-promising eye cremes and gels provide and still looks cakey and drier than ever under careful concealer application.
Despite a myriad of under-eye concealer options now being available, and a rich assortment of eye creams providing maximum hydration, for those than suffer dark circles AND dry skin under the eyes - these options sometimes just aren't enough.
But it's not all bad news! We've discovered this simple beauty hack, using an everyday beauty product, that will transform your eyes from dull, dark and dry, to bright, plump and youthful looking.
The magical trick? Use a beauty balm like the cult 1. 8 hour Cream from Elizabeth Arden, , or the 2. Multi-Purpose Balm from PawPaw, , or 3. Stem Cell Glam Balm from Rodial, (or just a plain old lip balm will do too!)
After applying your usual skincare routine to nourish and hydrate the under-eye area - conceal as normal and then dab the balm under the centre of the eye (in line with your pupils if they were facing forward), underneath the lower lid.
We caught up with Red's beauty director and resident skincare expert Annabel Meggeson, to tell us exactly how this trick works:
"For hollowness or dryness under the eyes, you need to conceal and then press the balm under the centre of the eye, this will bounce light and automatically make the under-eye area look plumper and younger (and therefore brighter)."
Hollow eyes often look sunken in and dry, thin skin does nothing to help this. Giving the appearance of plumper, bouncier skin will correct this by giving off the illusion of bright, youthful eyes.
And voila! Your eyes will be sparkling with this simple trick in no time at all...
